With limited space available on campus for clubs, KLC has had a hard time finding space to practice, host radio shows and broadcast music. Fortunately, the administration was able to secure a new space for KLC in the toasty comfort of the Columbia Gorge wildfire. Now situated in a cozy and very flammable log cabin, KLC has resumed business as usual.

“I mean, all the records and CDs have melted, and I keep burning my fingers on the switchboard, but it’s nice to finally have a permanent space of our own,” KLC contributor Tallulah Sterling reported. “Not everything is on fire per se, but having three people on sprinkler duty at all times has left us a bit short-staffed. But I like to think of it as working in a sauna.”

Listeners of the KLC broadcasts now report there is much more on-air coughing by the hosts, but that the sound of crackling and burning wood is rather comforting.

These minor inconveniences haven’t stopped KLC from putting out quality content and playing great music. New shows include:  “Third Degree Bangers,” “Inside the Fire Shelter” and “Send More Water Please.”

Needless to say, KLC is still burning up the charts as the hottest radio station in the greater Palatine Hill area.

KLC’s “Stop, Drop, Rock-n-Roll” playlist includes tracks such as:

“Set Fire To The Rain” by Adele

“This Girl Is On Fire” by Alicia Keys

“Baptism by Fire” by AC/DC

“Burnin’ Up” by The Jonas Brothers

“Slow Burn” by David Bowie

“I’m on Fire” by Bruce Springsteen

“Help” by The Beatles
